Anti-virus and the importance of PC security

Just like the human body, the immune system tends to defend itself against foreign threats and viruses. The computer is just like the human body as well. If you do not have a proper immune system in your body, your body will be crippled by the viruses. The same goes for the computer as well.
If nobody protects the computer, you will lose a lot of files, experience a tremendous slow down in your PC and even worse – not be able to boot up your computer at all in the worst case scenario.
In order to prevent escalating costs when it comes to fixing your PC, you have to remember a few basic rules about antivirus protectors and PC security.
- Do not always download any antivirus security software you see on the Internet. Sometimes, there are malicious companies who will disguise themselves as virus cleaners but they are actually malware or spyware in disguise. Their so called ‘virus cleaners’ are actually the ones who open a back door in your computer such as a Trojan horse. You must always download virus cleaners from well known brands at their official sites.
- Remember to do a preliminary scan on all your files and full scans several times. Do not take the short cut and do it only once or twice. You might miss out on malware that are deeply embedded within your file structure – especially the parts on your registries. The files there keep changing all the time.
- You must also update your virus cleaners often as well. Just as the human body, if you do not take supplements or go for a good exercise regularly, you will wind up hurting yourself when new threats come knocking on your door. Even if you have to pay a little extra after the free trial expires, it is still worth the price because it is much cheaper than sending your computer to the computer repair shop.
It’s your PC – so make sure you take good care of it.
